The Northern California Chapter of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) held their first technical dinner of the year on March 4th, 2020.
‘Three Roof Projects Gone’ Wrong was presented by Phil Dregger PE, RRC of Salas O’Brien to an attentive group of about 40 industry professionals at Scotts Seafood Grill & Bar, Oakland, CA
Phil covered a variety of topics including:
- How power washing can inadvertently worsen, rather than enhance, the visual appearance of concrete tile.
- The importance of pre-construction “mock-ups” before employing unproven procedures.
- Why Type B flues have minimum required clearances from combustible material.
- The importance of following manufacturer recommended “calibration” procedures before induction heat welding activities.
Supporting the event were 3 table top sponsors. The Chapter’s industry sponsors are the backbone that supports the organization in its non-profit endeavors. Sponsors included Dupont, Strategic Building Products, and BET Associates.
Annual Meeting of the Members
The evening was opened with the annual meeting of the members.
A review of 2019 events, the introduction of the Board of Directors for 2020, and an outline of coming events made for a full and fruitful meeting.
